ELDOM BCE 300 cooling / heating buffer tank for heat pumps
The ELDOM BCE 300 cooling / heating buffer tank is an ideal choice for heat pump heating and cooling systems where more efficient, better balanced and gentler system operation matters. The buffer tank's role is to store the heat energy generated in the central heating or cooling system but not used immediately, and then feed it back into the system as needed via a circulation pump.
Using it reduces the number of on/off cycles of the heat pump or other cooling/heating appliance, which can contribute to gentler operation of the equipment and more stable performance of the system. It can be particularly useful in systems where circuits at different temperatures operate together, as it can help moderate the resulting loads.
The tank is made of rolled steel sheet with internal enamelling and tank protection with 2 anodes. The fixed, rigid PU insulation and the water-repellent outer jacket help retain heat, while the floor-standing design allows straightforward installation. The tank is built for an operating pressure of 6 bar and features 2 x 4 internally threaded 6/4” heating system connections.
A further advantage of the ELDOM BCE 300 is that a factory heating element with a 180 mm diameter and an output between 3 and 12 kW can be fitted into the lower inspection opening. In addition, the 6/4” auxiliary socket allows a further heating unit to be installed. This means the water in the heating system can be heated even without operating the central heat generator, such as a boiler.
Thanks to the internal enamelling and official drinking water certification, the tank is also suitable for storing domestic hot water or cold water, so it can also be used as a DHW tank.
