Cookie policy
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy informs visitors about the cookies and browser-side data storage used on trident-heatpump.com (hereinafter: the Website).
The Data Controller (TRIDENT Kereskedelmi és Szolgáltató Kft., registered office: 2344 Dömsöd, Bucsi köz 8., Hungary) processes the data listed here in order to ensure the proper functioning of the Website and to personalise the user experience, in accordance with the applicable legislation (GDPR — Regulation (EU) 2016/679, the Hungarian Infotv.).
2. What is a cookie / Web Storage?
A cookie is a small text file that the Website stores in the visitor’s browser. It enables the site to “remember” certain information about the visitor.
Web Storage (sessionStorage and localStorage) is a similar — but technically different — mechanism of modern browsers: it stores small data packages on the user’s device, accessible only to our own Website. Unlike cookies, Web Storage data is not sent to the server with every request — only client-side JavaScript can access it.
This Website does not use classic HTTP cookies on its own domain; instead, we store data in your browser exclusively via the Web Storage API. From a functional perspective, both have the same regulatory classification (a “cookie-like” technology under the GDPR), which is why we also detail them here for the sake of full transparency.
3. Functional (strictly necessary) data — sessionStorage
This data is stored in your browser, solely for the current tab/browsing session. It is automatically deleted when the browser is closed. Its legal basis is legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (ensuring the functionality of the Website).
- trident_flow_active
- Indicates whether the Smart Advisor (quote request wizard) is in progress. Value:
'true'when active. - trident_flow_data
- The complete JSON object of the answers given so far in the Smart Advisor (name, segment, project type, problems, system type, etc.) — so the quote request can be resumed within the same session after an interruption.
- trident_route_timestamp
- The timestamp of the last Smart Advisor interaction — used to calculate the “expiry” of the flow.
- trident_segment
- The segment chosen by the customer (
lakossagi[residential] orvallalati[commercial]) — for displaying the appropriate content. - trident_situation
- The project situation (new build, renovation, information gathering, etc.).
- trident_first_name
- The first name provided by the user — for personalised addressing.
- trident_email
- The email address provided by the user — for sending the quote within the Smart Advisor flow.
- trident_project_type
- The project type (new build / renovation / etc.) — for sizing calculations.
- trident_area
- The floor area of the property (m²).
- trident_building_size
- The size of the building (for commercial profiles).
- trident_current_heating
- The type of the current heating system — for payback calculations.
Duration: until the browser tab is closed (max. 1 session).
4. Persistent data — localStorage
This data is stored in your browser and persists after the browser is closed — until the user deletes it manually or the Website code deletes it at a programmed event.
- trident_pending_payment
- A safety backup created during the payment of the Smart Advisor technical consultation (Stripe). It contains the Stripe Payment Intent ID of the successful payment + the user’s flowData. Purpose: if the payment succeeded on Stripe but saving the lead on the Trident server were to fail due to any network error, the payment identifier is preserved in the browser for recovery. It is deleted automatically once the lead is saved successfully.
Duration: until the lead is saved successfully (usually within 1 minute), or until manually deleted by the user.
5. Third party — Stripe (payment)
For the online payment of the technical consultation fee (HUF 25,400 gross), the Website uses the services of Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. (1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin, Ireland).
To secure the payment process (fraud prevention, encryption of card data), Stripe may store its own cookies in the browser, such as __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid, m. These are required exclusively for the secure transmission of card data and are only loaded if you actually open the Stripe payment form on our site. If you do not pay, these cookies are not created.

6. Third party — Microsoft Clarity (analytics)
To measure site traffic and improve the user experience, we use the Microsoft Clarity service (Microsoft Corporation, USA). Clarity records, in anonymised form, how the visitor uses the site: clicks, scrolling, mouse movements, page load times and errors.
Clarity automatically masks sensitive data (password fields, payment information, any content typed into text fields). It does not record data suitable for identifying specific individuals (PII).
Clarity is only loaded if you have expressly accepted analytics cookies via the cookie banner. If you choose “Necessary only”, Clarity does NOT run.
Cookies stored by Clarity:
_clck— anonymous visitor identifier (lifetime: 1 year)_clsk— session identifier (lifetime: 1 day)CLID,MR,MUID,SM— Microsoft’s own identifiers within the Clarity infrastructure
Microsoft’s privacy statement: privacy.microsoft.com · Clarity-specific: learn.microsoft.com/clarity
7. Third party — Google Tag Manager + Google Analytics 4 (analytics)
For detailed traffic analysis, we run Google Analytics 4 (Measurement ID: G-M92D0RH0NE) via the Google Tag Manager service (Container ID: GTM-MBX9NBVR). Both are services of Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland).
GA4 records page views, events (clicks, scrolling, form submissions, file downloads), traffic sources and conversions in anonymised form. IP anonymisation is enabled.
GTM operates with Google Consent Mode v2: the tags are in a denied state by default. They only send data to Google if you have accepted analytics cookies via the cookie banner. If you choose “Necessary only”, Google receives neither analytics nor marketing data (but the GTM script tag is loaded as standard so that we can transmit the consent signal).
Main cookies stored by GA4 / GTM:
_ga— visitor identifier (lifetime: 2 years)_ga_M92D0RH0NE— session state (lifetime: 2 years)_gid,_gat— temporary session identifiers
